I turned twenty-three this week and it was very celebratory - thanks to so many of you! Some highlights:
* sharing a ginormous cupcake with small neighbors!
* birthday phonecalls from everywhere - including Israel, Thailand, and Hungary!
* breaking bread (pizza) with dear friends!
* replacing a flat tire for the first time ever! (not my tire)
* spending the day out of the office, at the Food Bank!
* Italian, Thai, Indian, Burmese, and Ethiopian meals, also with dear friends!
* birthday breakfast with thoughtful roomies!
* 23 wishes post-it-ed around my room by Amanda! Some of my favorite wishes are: finding & creating community in new ways, putting down roots & stretching your wings, finding balance between living in the “now” and “not yet”, being a candle when you cannot be a lighthouse, and practicing resurrection as you learn to make things grow.
Another page turns; 23 looks like a good year. Let's keep journeying together for a while.
