stretch out your hand and you will be in abundance. -congolese proverb

I bowed my head to give thanks for the food we were about to eat, and then it struck me: The tomatoes in the bruschetta were from my garden and from the Joshua Farm, the basil came from my windowsill, and the onion came from Jason’s garden. The homemade focaccia bread was from Dawn and the iced mint tea was from tea plants Dad gave me earlier in the Spring. I was sitting with Amanda and Katie to share one of our last meals as roommates.
God has been reminding me of abundance this week--how rich I am to have this community, these beautiful people, who feed and nourish me in all the complex ways humans need to be fed and nourish.
Blessed, now to be a blessing. Nourished, now to help nourish.
